Antique Heavily Carved Oak Settle Bench 19th Century Victorian Circa 1870

Magnificent 19th century profusely carved oak settle with box seat circa 1870, the high back featuring a central carved mask flanked by flying mythical dragons, hanging vines with swags and tassels, four heavily carved panels depicting cherubs and maidens with hanging flowers trailing vines with linen fold detail below, the box seat with lift up lid with storage space within, shaped arm supports with a pair of armorial lions to each side, further carvings to seat front with four masks, all raised on stile feet.

Condition: Offered in excellent antique condition, with minor age related wear, there are no signs of past or present woodworm, no odours or smells, wonderful oak patina.
