Pierre Jeanneret Model: PJ020112 Teak Rectangular Dining Table (Table En Teck) known as "Committee Table" in solid teak and teak veneer, Chandigarh India circa 1963-64, the rectangular table top in thick veneer, reinforced by a criss-crossed framework, slotting into the base and secured by nuts and bolts, the crossed legs with signature ‘V’ motif,  the table base united by two full length stretchers, the ‘V’ motif was often used in the works of Le Corbusier, in his furniture designs as well as the load-bearing structures of the buildings he designed in Chandigarh, the table with its original markings to the table edge and legs, marked PAU (PB) CANTEEN-21/IV denoting its designation.

Matched with a set of twelve Pierre Jeanneret Model PJ-010100T ‘Floating Back’ Chairs Chandigarh Circa 1955-56, also known as ‘Fauteuil En Teck’ the chairs finished in solid teak with both seat and backrest hand braided in cane, signature Jeanneret ‘Compass’ style double sided inverted V leg assembly, with the legs connected by a central stretcher, the chairs with a slightly curved backrest that is separated from the seat all marked with original identification markings denoting designation, this set has been completely and professionally restored in Chandigarh in accordance with original specification.

Condition: The table has age related knocks, marks and scuffs, all chairs have age related wear, knocks, marks and splits, each piece will have its own character and markings, all chairs have been lightly restored and will have been oiled and waxed, joints will be strengthened and made solid, cane work will always be renewed and in perfect condition as will cushions and upholstery, each item will be unique and each piece will not be exactly the same as the next, the patina may slightly vary as these items date from the 1950s and 60s, each chair will be slightly +/-different in size due to being original.
