The chest benefits from a rich golden camphor colour, with a wonderful grain configuration to the front and sides, having been French polished by our expert furniture restorer. This piece of furniture would look great at the end of a bed, as a side/bedside table or used as a coffee table, lots of character that would grace any room. Mahogany, camphor and teak were used extensively for military chests because they had the advantage of only minimally expanding and contracting when exposed to extremes in temperature and humidity. Camphor is particularly resistant to woodworm, termites and other tropical infestations.
