Antique Military Yew Campaign Chest of Drawers Circa 1890 Number: 14 Beautiful and petit this exquisite antique 19th century Victorian Two Section solid Yew Brass-Mounted 'Military Campaign' Chest of Drawers dating to circa 1890, the rectangular top complete with brass corner protectors over two short and three longer graduated drawers, all fitted with campaign brass recessed handles and brass escutcheons, raised on block feet, this chest dates from the Victorian era and has been fully restored and re polished, all brass work is original and the chest is offered in excellent condition, comes with one working key with tassel. Condition: This chest has been to our furniture restorer for a full refurbishment, it was fully stripped back, oiled and treated and re French polished back to its original beauty, the joints were checked and re strengthened, all brass work was removed and dipped to remove any build up of grime with a special bath electro compound that does not scratch the brass work, this restoration will stand the chest in good stead for the next 125 years if cared for correctly, a stunningly beautiful example of original Campaign furniture. Campaign chests and furniture such as this one were traditionally constructed from Mahogany or Teak because these woods had the advantage of only minimally expanding and contracting when exposed to extremes in temperature and humidity, Mahogany and Teak are also very resilient and resistant to infestation from woodworm, termites etc. Dimensions:
