Magnificent and important mid twentieth century Pierre Jeanneret (1896 - 1967) rare Lounge Chairs Oak and Cane Chandigarh, India Circa 1955-56, very few examples of this chair design are known; four examples were ordered by the architect Michel Weill for his apartment in Neuilly and a pair was ordered by the architect Yves Korbendau for his home in Rabat, Morocco. The solid oak frames with square woven cane back rest and caned rectangular seat resting on four splayed legs just below the seat, the chairs come with two custom made seat cushions, these items have been professionally and sympathetically restored in Chandigarh in accordance with original specification whilst retaining all original patina, as with all of our Pierre Jeanneret furniture these items will come with an extensive set of pre restoration images and a certificate of authenticity, reserve now.
